DID YOU KNOW?
When you read in the Bible about Jesus going to Jerusalem, you’ll notice the word “up” used repeatedly. That’s because Jerusalem is a city set high in the mountains. To reach it, you must go up.
This is why the journey to Jerusalem is called Aliyah, which means an ascent. It was not only an ascent because of the physical terrain, but because Jerusalem is the Holy City, a place with deep spiritual significance. Going to Jerusalem was both a physical climb and a spiritual one.
In the same way, our lives in God are meant to be an upward journey, drawing us closer to Him. We ascend spiritually just as we ascended to Jerusalem.
Every day, we are faced with choices.
Every choice gives us an opportunity to go lower, to stay the same, or to go higher.
Choose the higher path—even when it is harder.
Take the higher step—even when it costs more.
Let every step you take be higher than the one before.
TODAY:
Let each day be higher than the day before it.
As you walk with God, your life will become an Aliyah, a continual ascent into His presence, His purposes, and His promises.
