DID YOU KNOW:
Jesus was teaching the multitudes from a boat on the Sea of Galilee when He turned to His disciple Simon Peter and said, “Launch out into the deep, and let your nets down for a catch.” So, they did, and they caught so many fish that their nets began to break under the weight of the abundance.
I have found that the blessings of God are very rarely found in shallow waters, the shallow waters of faith. They do not swim there.
Many dwell only in the shallows of Christianity. They stay close to the shore, near what is familiar, safe, and comfortable. They never fully leave the old ways or the old life, and as a result, they only experience the shallow things of God.
They believe, but with a shallow faith.
They read Scripture, but only skim the surface, the letter, not the depth.
They pray, but only in the shallows of prayer, never pressing into its depths.
They know of God’s love but never enter deeply enough to experience it fully.
And because they never go deep, they never encounter the deep blessings God has prepared for them.
If you want the blessings of God, you must leave the shallow waters. You must launch out away from the shore—away from distractions, away from what is familiar, away from the old and move into the deep.
The deep waters of faith.
The deep waters of His presence.
The deep of His Word.
The deep of worship.
The deep of His joy.
The deep of His voice.
The deep of His Spirit.
The deep of His heart.
That is where the abundance is found.
That is where the nets fill.
That is where lives are changed.
TODAY:
Launch out into the deep waters of God and there, let down your nets in faith.
